Cafe Annapurna has wonderful food if you're looking for something healthy and different. (They have Nepali food but also have wraps and gyros for the more timid). It's a family-owned place with all the food freshly made. The food is outstanding, and I recommend the Momo (similar to steamed dumplings, but with turkey), Paratha platter (bread similar to flattened croissant with chick pea stew), and their stew of the day. They're really nice about explaining the items on the menu. Don't miss this place, once you try the food you'll keep going back.

"Authentic Nepali" ....   Rated 3 out of 5.

Posted by GUEST on: Saturday, July 14, 2007 Review: Has a number of vegetarian indian/nepali dishes, like chole (chana masala), vegetarian momo (dumplings), particularly a vegetarian platter (contents vary day by day) with rice, dal, a few small sides and served with papad. Still serves some menu items from the previous greek business like baklava and (lamb) gyros.
Pros: affordable * healthy *
Cons: lmited menu * small portions *

"Nepali vegetarian platter" ....   Rated 4 out of 5

Review: This is not a 100% vegetarian restaurant, but they are vegetarian friendly. A few members from TalVeg said the Nepali vegetarian platter was good. In addition, they have Lhasa noodles, curry tofu wrap, and a garden salad. There is more detailed review on www.talveg.com

I just discovered this little Nepali/Tibetan restaurant, which opened two months ago. At the moment, they're only open for lunch (regular hours are something like 11 to 3, but they stay longer if they have customers). It sounds like they're planning to expand to dinners in the near future. Their menu is limited, but it includes vegetarian options. I'm not sure about vegan options, but it didn't seem like there were any dairy products in my vegetarian platter (unless they cook with ghee or butter). Similar to Indian food, but not quite the same (less spicy, a concession to American palates). They also have a few subs/sandwiches/wraps for anyone in your party who may be less adventurous, including a curry tofu wrap. It's also inexpensive.
